Critical Impact

High Broadcast Traffic

It has been detected that the amount of broadcast traffic is greater than the defined thresholds on a device. Impact: High levels of broadcast traffic can noticeably degrade a host’s performance on the network.

High CPU Utilization

It has been detected that the CPU utilization is greater than the defined thresholds on a device. Impact: This will directly impact network performance. Users will experience slow-downs and response times will increase.

High Memory Utilization

It has been detected that the memory utilization is greater than the defined thresholds on a device. Impact: This will directly impact network performance. Users will experience slow-downs and response times will increase.

Infrastructure Device Offline

It has been detected that the infrastructure device has gone offline. Possible Causes: 1. The device is no longer responding to pings from the Auvik collector. 2. The device has been powered down. 3. The device has crashed. 4. A power outage or brownout has occurred. 5. Emergency maintenance is being performed. 6. The device has been removed from the network.

Interface Status Mismatch

A interface that is administratively up has been found to be operationally down. Possible causes: 1. A shutdown command was issued by someone with access to the device’s configuration. 2. A cable has been unplugged.

Internet Connection Is Lost

It has been detected that the internet connection for this default gateway has been lost. Possible Causes: 1. ISP connectivity issues. 2. A malfunction in an edge network device (e.g., firewall) has occurred. 3. A power outage or brownout has occurred.

Network Element Offline

It has been detected that the network element has gone offline. Possible Causes: 1. A power outage or brownout has occurred. 2. The upstream switch or router on the network is also having issues. 3. Device misconfiguration. 4. ICMP traffic to the device is blocked. 5. Emergency maintenance is being performed. 6. A hardware malfunction has occurred. 7. An operating system-related crash has occurred. 8. The device has been removed from the network.

UPS Possible Power Outage

A power outage or interruption has been detected: this UPS is now running on battery power. Possible Causes: 1. A power outage or brownout has occurred. 2. Power has been disconnected. 3. The UPS was powered OFF.

Virtual Appliance Offline

It has been detected that the virtual appliance has been disconnected from the cloud for longer than the defined threshold. Possible causes: 1. Auvik is performing routine maintenance to upgrade the collector. 2. The device running the collector has powered down. 3. The collector has been powered down or stopped. 4. The device running the collector has lost connection to the network.

VPN Remote Gateway Is Lost

It has been detected that the VPN remote gateway has been lost. Impact: Network communications will break with remote end locations.
