Exchange Database Size Increases Quickly Due To Public Folders Messages
AIS Monitoring Platform has discovered that the Exchange Database size increases quickly due to Public folders Messages. In a mixed Microsoft Exchange environment, public folders can be replicated from Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1). However, in some cases, the public folder replication messages stay in the MapiDelivery queue. These messages are retried periodically on the Exchange Server 2007 SP1 server that has the Hub Transport role installed. Therefore, the Exchange database grows quickly and exhausts the disk space. This issue occurs when Exchange Server 2007 SP1 cannot convert certain replication messages to MAPI items because the messages are missing some TNEF data.
